NEXT GENERATION EU, MULTIANNUAL FINANCIAL FRAMEWORK 2021-2027 AND OTHER EUROPEAN INSTRUMENTS.

PROPOSALS FOR A REVITALISATION OF LOCAL AND REGIONAL AUTHORITIES

Ventotene (LT) – “Terracini” Multipurpose Centre Room 4 September 2020 – 17-20 hours

EVENT IN ITALIAN

The particular moment that Italy and the European Union are facing is well highlighted in the premise of the “Conclusions” of the European Council of 17-21 July 2020:

As Europe mourns the loss of lives from the COVID-19 pandemic, the European Council extends its deepest sympathy to the victims and their families. As Europeans continue to face extraordinary challenges and uncertainty in their daily lives, all our efforts will remain focused on protecting citizens and overcoming the crisis.

The European Council noted the need for substantial public and private investment at European level to firmly move the Union towards a sustainable and resilient recovery, capable of creating jobs and repairing the immediate damage caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, supporting the Union’s green compatibility and digital challenges.

The Institute of Federalist Studies Altiero Spinelli, aware of the role that the Lazio Region authority plays in its daily activity of stimulating the growth of local communities, of the topicality of the protection plan and of the territorial realities closest to the citizens, has organized a round table (hereafter the programme) with local councillors and administrators in order to “bring” with knowledge and important ideas the local decision-makers of the region to the tools that will soon be available to the national communities.

The main European instrument will be the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027 and the strengthening programme to provide the Union with the necessary means to tackle the pandemic crisis, the Next Generation EU, and other European intervention lines such as the SURE Fund and possibly the revised European Stability Mechanism for the health emergency.
