Antonio Saggio Award. 10th edition

The Altiero Spinelli Institute, together with the Saggio Family and the Municipality of Ventotene, promotes the Antonio Saggio Award which is awarded to the best essay on European integration. The topic chosen for the 2024 edition is “The European Union and the new legislature, new challenges with what tools?”
Antonio Saggio, magistrate born in Naples on February 19, 1934, served as Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg and previously as President of the Court of First Instance in Luxembourg (first and only Italian to serve as President). Starting from the 70s, Antonio Saggio had a strong bond with the Ventotene island where he spent long periods over several summers, together with his family, and where he decided to be buried together with his wife, Silvia.
The opportunity to submit an essay and compete for the Award is reserved to all participants admitted to take part in the Ventotene Seminar.
The Award’s winner will have to attend the Award Ceremony which will take place during the Ventotene Seminar.
The essays, which can be written either in English or in Italian, will have to comply with the following standard: 2-page A4 maximum length, Times New Roman font, 11 points size, single spaced, 2 cm margins (right and left). Furthermore, the essays must be submitted via email (to director@istitutospinelli.org) by July 24.
The Award’s winner will be selected by August 20 by a panel composed by the Altiero Spinelli Institute, the Saggio family, and the Municipality of Ventotene.
The Award’s winner will receive 400€ from the Saggio family via bank transfer.
