On 22 and 23 May, the Network of Political Houses and Foundations of the Great Europeans of the European Parliament, of which the Altiero Spinelli Institute for Federalist Studies is a member, will meet.
The eighth meeting of the Network of Political Houses of the European Parliament will be held at the Jean Monnet House, during the opening of the afternoon of 22 May with the speech of Christian Mangold, Director General of Communication, European Parliament (online).
The meeting continues with thematic speeches dedicated to the figures of Monnet, Kohl, Delors, honorary citizens of Europe, “A conversation on the centenary of the birth of Jacques Delors.” with Gilles Grin, Director of the Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe. Klaus Welle, former Secretary General of the European Parliament and President of the Academic Council of the Martens Centre and Christine Verger, Vice-President of the Jacques Delors Institute.
This is followed by a Round Table on historical and archival resources within the European institutions with Anders Hakansson, Administrator, Directorate for Library Services and Knowledge, European Parliament, Fernando Florindo, Head of Unit for Information Services, Council, and Josep-Maria Ribot, Director of Resources, Directorate-General for the Presidency, European Parliament, led by Martí Grau, Head of Service and Curator, Jean Monnet House, European Parliament and a speech by Debora Righetti, Coordinator for Outreach and Training at the Jean Monnet House on “Funding Programmes in the EU”.
A key moment of the day was the discussion among members on the recent activities of the network, coordinated by Debora Righetti and Inês Nauwelaers, Assistant Curator at the Jean Monnet House and, in closing, a speech by Marc Angel, Quaestor, European Parliament.
On Friday 23 May, the proceedings will open with a Tour de table on the activities of the network’s working groups, coordinated by Margherita Orsi, Head of Events and Awareness at the Jean Monnet House, and Natalia Papageorgiou, Schuman Programme intern at the Jean Monnet House.
